Yellowstone 8.10.11

We’ve set off on our tour of the Pacific Northwest! We’re planning on taking in all the typical tourist things. Today and yesterday we stopped at Yellowstone National Park and yes, it is as beautiful as they say. All the scenery has been beyond gorgeous and the wildlife has been so breathtaking. We got to see a herd of buffalo cross the road and swim across the river as well as a wolf, a bald eagle and several elk. We really wanted to see a moose and bear but maybe later on this month… We stopped and hiked down to the waterfalls! Hiking is sort of a new thing for us Kansas girls (there are no hills, let alone mountains at home) and the Yellowstoneweather is drastically different (not that we’re missing the 110 degree days) but all in all we’re having an amazing time. The things that are strictly Yellowstone were really amazing! Westopped at the bubbling mud and drove through the geyser basins on our way to Old Faithful. We’re all loving everything and can’t pick a favorite. However, if you do ever go to Yellowstone we’ll let you in on something that no one told us about… sulfur. It smells really terrible at the bubbling mud and geysers. So, don’t say that we didn’t warn you! You really should make the trip at least once though, seeing the evidence of God’s creativity is definitely worth the trip!
