Sailboating on Puget Sound 8.18.11

Mt. RainierWe’re singing and ministering on the west coast this month and it’s been an amazing couple of weeks! God is giving us the opportunity to do so many new things! We’re definitely not in Kansas anymore… We spent the day at the beach with family and friends and had a fantastic time. The weather was perfect for a day in the sun and one of the highlights was taking our first ever ride in a sailboat! Virg, a retired Military Chaplain, took us out on the water and we saw our first seals! He told us about how once he and his wife were sailing and a whale came and swam beside them! Though we’re hoping to see a whale on this trip, I think I’d rather be in something besides a sailboat when and if that happens. When we got back to shore the guys had fresh smokes salmon and it was definitely delicious! At the end of the day with the “cold” weather (cold compared to Kansas) we all sat around the camp fire and enjoyed the beauty of God’s creation. The sunset highlighted Mt. Rainier casting in in colors that reflected the emotions of the wonderful day.
