Noel 1.28.10

When we first decided to make a Christmas CD all of us sat down and picked some of our favorite carols. It was tough to choose and after much “discussion” we had it narrowed down to nine. Since we have four original songs that we were going to put on the album we needed to shave off a few more selections. Not wanting to leave any out, the obvious answer was to craft the carols and make them into medleys.

Noel is made up of Hark the Herald Angels Sing, Angels From the Realms of Glory and The First Noel. We added a little melody that ties all the songs together and at first it was sounding kind of cheesy. We never sang this song live and we weren’t sure if it would make the cut. However, the musicians made it come to life and I LOVE how this song turned out. The guys totally rocked out this carol combination and added Christmas flare. Layering guitars, keys, bells, drums and bottoming it all out with a bass line that you can feel… OK so you can tell I REALLY LOVE this song. Dad’s favorite part is the Windsor B3 organ (Lainika and I really don’t care for the sound of organs but after hearing this one, we have decided that a Windsor B3 almost makes us like them, almost.) With so many different sounds shining through the soundtrack, you’ll hear something new pop out at you every time you listen. Next we get to mix it up even more with harmony! I can’t wait to go back and record vocals in March!
